His two tragedies and his one original comedy show mastery of the newly rivived conventions and a real flair for stagecraft; his skill in prose dialoque is revealed in his Negromant, the first known French translation of Aristo's II Negromante. Yet this is the first complete edition of all his four plays to be published since the early 17th century.
